Reflecting upon the recent election in the United States of America, my experience at the ground level of the American political system, as well as the various discussions had in a Social & Political Philosophy class, I've come to this:
I would argue that in political discourse, the impact and influence of Religion should only be so much that the objective sense of ethics prevails in action and office. Ideally one would divorce specific religious beliefs from ethics in politics and political decisions.
